Toronto Comicon 2007!
I had SOOOO MUCH FUN this weekend! HUGE difference from the dog and cat shows I've done. Most likely because I was with my own people. The geeks and nerds, oh how I love them! And it was *MY* art, not drawings I forced myself to do to pay the bills. This was stuff I was really proud of, and I got a much better reaction because of it, I think.![]()
Taken the day before we left, which is why I look extremely tired. Sadly you can not read all of my shirt. But those who understand it will recognize it.![]()
Lady Yates and I were originally supposed to be sharing a table, but somewhere along the lines, one of the con people made a beautiful mistake and we both ended up with our own. In the end it worked out incredibly well, because I don't know how we would have fit our stuff in three feet of space each. This is one side of my table!![]()
And the middle of my table...![]()
And the other side of my table!![]()
Next door we have the lovely Lady Yates of Earthsong. And... a man... standing in her head.![]()
We saw them bringing the Silver Surfer in when we were setting up. He was missing an arm then, but it managed to re-attach itself. Very cool.![]()
And in the same category of 'very cool', Earthsong herself showed up! Poor girl couldn't see a thing and had to be directed through the show to get to us (we were at the very, very back, the last two tables of Artist's Alley).![]()
On Day 1 Andrew jokingly told me to draw Batman stroking Robin... so I did. It got a lot of laughs, and Jason eventually bought it. I was glad he got it, because now I can pester him for a scan... <.<![]()
Speaking of Robin! Wow, this dude put a hell of a lot of work into this one.![]()
This nice lady (gah, I don't know if I asked her name, but I've forgotten) was going from table to table asking the artists and exhibitors to sign her skin. Her husband told her that if she got 50 signatures, he'd pay for half of her next tattoo. I signed her right arm, I think. Hopefully she got all the sigs she needed!![]()
And the high point of my weekend! Tohru drove all the way from Michigan (four hour trip) to see me! She tried to dye her hair to look like Sue's (got the black in!), so I gave her a sketch of Sue that I'd drawn for her the night before (though I was going to give it to her anyway, hehe). She bought one of the Sue necklaces and is modeling it for you here. ;D Thanks again for coming! Totally made my day.![]()
Lou from Cy-Boar and I did an art trade on Saturday (he and Stef from Sarah Zero were a couple tables down from us). This is my own interpretation of his character. I imagine half-robotic boars really enjoy their tea time!
And here's the drawing Lou did for me in return! He captured Irwin peeeeerrfectly. Thanks man!
I also did a trade with Lady Yates, but I stupidly forgot to take a picture of the Zaebos I drew for her (hint hint?). Oh well, here's her drawing of Garrett! I couldn't help but squeal. He's never looked cuter. X3![]()
The Miller and Mullet guys were bringing around a sketchbook and asking for sketches of scary clowns. Here's my scary clown!![]()
Evil Deeeeead! Had to get a picture of these three. They looked bloody fantastic.![]()
Obligatory 'I'll take a picture of you taking a picture of me' shot. GO US!![]()
I AM SO SHORT! Thanks Lady, wouldn't have had this great opportunity if not for you!
I was sad when it all came to an end and I had to pack up. Meeting new people, drawing on-the-spot sketch commissions, talking about comics and art and fangirling over my favourite artists... t'was all so enjoyable.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by!!
